March 29 - April 1, 2018 - PSBA display at Sakura-Con Anime Convention

Seattle Sakura-Con Anime Convention is one of the largest anime conventions on the west coast.  Seattle was the first to include cultural groups by request of convention goers.  It is an honor to be invited each year.  This is PSBA’s 10th year of participation.  We are included as part of the Art Show which provides excellent security for your trees. Docents get the added bonus of a convention pass for the day, so you can enjoy the displays, vendors and costumed attendees before or after your shift.

We need trees and docents for the convention:

Setup & tree drop off:

Seattle Convention Ctr:             March 29th, 3:00 to 7:00pm

Convention:                              March 30th and 31st

Tear down & tree pick up:          April 1st, 1:00 to 3:00pm

Regarding Trees: Contact Jeannine Rakos

For Docents: Contact Sally Montejano

Docents work three hour shifts and require no experience. Even as a beginning PSBA member, you know more about bonsai than the convention goers, so new members are most welcome!  Docenting is fun and easy – we are always happy to teach.

We display trees of all ages and styles, including a couple of trees from recent new member workshops.  All trees must be display ready.  Quality trees of different variety and ages always makes a great display and are greatly appreciated by the convention goers.

We will be there to help you get your tree(s) into the convention.  We will also have your trees ready for pick up on Sunday.

If you have any questions, the Chairperson, Jeannine Rakos , would be happy to answer.  She has been co-chairing and chairing this display since PSBA started at this convention – so ask away!  Sally Montejano has many years experience at conventions and is a wonderful resource person who is always happy to help.
