June 4, 2016 - 11th Annual PSBA Bonsai Tree and Suiseki Auction

Please keep your calendar open for the 11th ANNUAL PSBA BONSAI TREE AND SUISEKI AUCTION~~SATURDAY JUNE 4, 2016.

PSBA's 11th annual auction will again be held at the Pacific Bonsai Museum in Federal Way Saturday, June 4 from noon to about 4 pm.  We will need lots of helpful volunteers to make this happen.

CREDIT CARDS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ANY PURCHASES MADE AT EITHER THE SILENT AUCTION OR THE LIVE AUCTION. ALL PARTICIPANTS IN EITHER OF THE AUCTIONS MUST SIGN UP FOR AN AUCTION PADDLE NUMBER PRIOR TO THE AUCTION. NO PADDLE, NO BIDDING.

New this year:

This year there will be a $5.00 fee per bidder/seller paddle.

All proceeds from the paddle fee will go to help support the Pacific Bonsai Museum, and the care of the beautiful trees in their collection.

Planning Information:

  1. 1. For the Silent Auction. Please consider making a donation of a bonsai related items to the club for inclusion in the silent auction and all sales proceeds will be donated to the club. Alternatively, you may also submit items to the silent auction with 10% of the proceeds going to PSBA as a donation. There will be no charge for reserves that are not met in the silent auction, however, we are limiting silent auction reserves to less than $100 per item.

If you have silent auction items, you can bring them on the day of the auction, but please arrive early, you will need to fill out an auction slip for each of your items with a description of the item, the reserve price if applicable (minimum bid), buy-it-now price if applicable, and seller id (paddle number) and give to the silent auction intake person.

  1. 2.  For the Live Auction. We need about 70 trees and no more than 5 viewing stones for the live auction. This year we are accepting no more than 5 items per club member for the live auction. Please note that 10% of the final auction price will be retained by the club as a donation. This is much lower than most auctions. Again, while you may set a reserve price for your tree, you will need to make a $15 donation to the club if your tree or stone does not meet the reserve price.

Those of you who wish to submit trees for the live auction may do so by e-mailing Jason Eider at (psbaauction@gmail.com).

Please also submit photos of your item with a short description of the tree, including any outstanding characteristics, such as age, where collected, how long in bonsai training, pot, etc. Please do so before May 15th.  Please note that the live auction may fill up before May 15th, so provide early notice to ensure inclusion of your trees in the live auction.

You can contact Jason @ psbaauction@gmail.com with any questions.
